Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum

Good afternoon, I would like to offer a
warm welcome to you all, particularly to
the officials, players and supporters of
Tavistock FC for their first visit to
Backwell. We hope you enjoy your time
with us and have a safe journey home.
At the time of writing I’ve no idea how
our pitch has held up following Tuesday
night’s league cup game here Vs.
Portishead. Considering the rain we had
recently both teams should be proud of
the entertainment on show, I think we
deserved our 3-0 win, thanks to goals
from Jack Sell, Charlie Saunders and Alfie
Cummins. A great attendance (again) with a large percentage of the 128 made
up of local lads from Backwell juniors. They certainly add to the atmosphere!
We look forward to a 2nd round derby at neighbours Clevedon Town on
Wednesday 16th March, who we have taken 4 points off of this season.
That has moved our midweek away fixture at Buckland Athletic to Tuesday 29th
        March.
With 8 weeks of the season left we still have quite a bit of travelling to do and I
can confirm we will be running coaches to the following venues, Ilfracombe 19th
March, Saltash 26th March, Millbrook 9th April, Mousehole Easter Monday! 18th
April. Tavistock 23rd April. I ALSO CONFIRM THESE WILL ALL BE FREE TO
SUPPORTERS, PARENTS ETC. Please contact me if you wish to join us down the
        M5.
I would like to welcome Zak Ford to the club on loan from Bristol Rovers. Zak
played for Ashton boys ( our junior club) when he was 5 years old, before joining
BRFC, his dad was their secretary for many years, so we go back a long way and
is definitely “ONE OF OUR OWN”
My thanks to James Kingston of Kingston & Co. Accountants, Rodney rd.
Backwell who is ,not is our latest pitch side advertiser, but has started to help
me sell more advertising. If you want to support us please contact James or
        myself.
I said earlier that this is the Lambs 1st visit to the Lancer Scott, well it could be
their last for a long while as they sit proudly at the top of the table, 7 points clear
        of Exmouth, with 3rd placed
        Mousehole in pursuit with
        games in hand. They arrive
        here in very good form,
        unbeaten in 19 games.
        Thank you for your support
        today, enjoy the game and
        please respect the officials.
        UP THE STAGS, Mike,
        Chairman
