third and gained promo on to Prem 2 of the Bristol Suburban League.
Season 2009-2010 proved a difficult one for the Club. The first XI faltered
a er a promising start, a er the loss of several key players, however the
team played some excellent football at mes and took points off the top
teams, finally finishing eleventh. Our reserve Team ba led relega on all
season a er finding the step up to Senior football a big one following
promo on.
Season 2010-2011 was a mixed season losing most of the original side
through injury and players moving on. But Barry managed to overcome
these difficul es and finally finished eighth. The Reserves once again just
managed to avoid relega on. Season 2011-2012 the Rocks were under new
management, Manager Gary Powell and Assistant Jason Wood signed
several new players and maintained a top of the league posi on for most of
the season, finally finishing as Champions 18 points clear of Old
Woodstock. Unfortunately our ground did not meet the ground grading
criteria required for promo on, however the Club are striving to ensure
they meet the criteria this season, enabling promo on should they finish in
a promo on place. The Reserves Management of Dave Franklin and Craig
Wood did a fantas c job of finishing 6th in Prem 2 of the Bristol Suburban
League, the highest posi on they have achieved so far.
Season 2012/13 The first team had a slow start to the season and dropped
vital points, however they picked up as the season progressed and pushed
for promo on, finally finishing third. The Reserves finished second in the
Bristol Suburban League Prem 2 and gained Promo on to Prem 1. In the
close season the Club have had floodlights installed and ground
improvements have taken place to ensure the ground meets the criteria.
Since their last league success the club has seen numerous Managers come
and go but with the new Mens 1st Team Manager Tim Minihane at the
helm Tytherington Rocks FC hope to restore the glory days once again and
with a strong Reserves, U18s and now Ladies team few would bet against
that happening in the near future.
