Sheffield & Hallamshire League
Cup and Shield ties dominated the opening set of fixtures for 2022. There was a heavyweight
tie in the League Cup where AFC Bentley edged out Harworth Colliery 2-1 with top
scorer Gemma Harte, who netted both for the visitors, inevitably continuing her fine form for
the season. Bentley are among the favourites to land the trophy, as are Dronfield Town
whose 6-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday Development included a brace from Kris
Humble. Mosborough were the round's highest scorers as they ran out 6-2 winners over
Wakefield Trinity U21s to claim their place in the quarter finals. Jess Broadhurst, Eva
Butler and Abi Shepherd netted for Rotherham Utd Whitehill in their 3-0 victory over
Sheffield Utd Community Foundation. Rotherham Utd Res won 4-1 at Sheffield
Wednesday Res with Cheryl Mawhood
bagging a hat trick and Paris Wagstaff also on
target for the visitors, who have a strong Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
squad. Barnsley (Women) PREMIER DIVISION P W D L F A Pts
