So we have it - the final home game of the 23/24 season!
Today we welcome Chard to BBS Park for what we hope is another 3 points in the bag.
During one of our outings to Chard this season, a certain Joe Moore tried fighting with their Village
Liason Officer. Spare a thought for the lads off to Benidorm in May with him. Has he mentioned he’s
also had a gastric band? Just checking you’ve heard…
We can’t move forward without mentioning Monday’s game against Chillcompton.
A strong start from the lads seeing us go 2-0 up was quickly turned on it’s head. Chilcompton
managed to equalise after a sloppy mistake from JP was punished - a mistake of such magnitude
hasn’t been seen since Kevin Hickory forgot to pull out in 1993.
However, with Magic Medj bashing out a hat-trick, Mendip took the win!
After pissing off the Res’ and stepping up for the 1st team, Bore remains superglued to the subs
bench. A poetic, unrequited love.
Pressure sore pads have also been ordered for Dylan and Mason’s splintered bums!
Big Happy Birthday the other day to the Mendip man himself - Richard O’Connor. Lookalikes for
Richard include Ronnie Pickering and Nigel Pearson. Begs the question, have we ever seen Ronnie
Pickering and Richard O’Connor in the same room?
Of course Copper Kev had a drone “lying around” to take photos of “the pitch”. Your story is as
authentic as Ian Milton’s wardrobe, Sgt Wade!
Also, congratulations to Ryan for his first year co-managing the 1st team. Say what you want about
Ryan; he’s always in the thick of it. So what if he’s built like Gru or how if you caught an Uber from
his eyebrows to his hairline it would set you back £30 - what a guy he’s been for the team this season!
The team will be also be thankful to know that Ryan has formally agreed to sign up to some tutoring
with me to expand his vocabulary beyond the word “yeah” between every word!
It’s been a cracker of a season and we can only hope it finishes on a high - not Biggos kind of high
anyway!
With promotion and a league win in sight, it’s the boys to lose!
As always, UP THE MENDIP!
Over and out,
The WAGS.
