A Word from the Chairman….
Good afternoon and welcome to the
Players, Officials and Supporters of
Chard Town Football Club. We hope
they enjoy their visit to BBS Park the
home of Mendip Broadwalk and
have a safe journey home this
evening.
What a Bank Holiday weekend !
We faced a tough away game
against Nailsea United on Saturday but managed to grind out a 2-0
win. Bank Holiday Monday was the game everyone was talking about
in the local area. Champion contenders (us) against current
champions (Chilcompton). The game didn’t disappoint. A bumper
crowd was treated to a superb standard of football. We went 2 up,
only for Chilcompton to level the game in the second half. We got the
winner with 10 minutes to go.
Today’s game is sure to be another tough test as Chard are one of
the form teams in the league over the last 10 games but it’s a
winnable game.
You will notice work is nearly complete to improve the facility and BBS
Park to bring us inline with Western League standards. The ambition
of the club is to achieve this sooner rather than later. Only time will
tell if we have the squad and the facility. As always we’ll be giving it
everything !!
Hopefully see you in the bar after for a chat about today’s game.
