Uhlsport Hellenic League Review


       Cribbs continue to lead the Premier Division following their handsome 4-0 victory at
       Westbury  United  at  the  weekend.  Dan  Webb  2,  Steve  Murray  and  Nick  Jones
       otched the goals to end the Wiltshire side’s fine recent run.
       Their lead was extended to two points from Bishops Cleeve who found themselves
       locked together with near neighbours Tuffley Rovers who left Kayte’s Lane with a goal
       less draw.
       Malvern  Town  have  stuttered  a  little  recently  but  returned  to  winning  ways  on
       Saturday by beating Royal Wootton Bassett Town 5-2. Dave Reynolds 2, Joe Bates,
       Joe Bullock and Nathan Chowns-Higgs were all on target on their return to form.
       Harlie Price and an own goal gave Brimscombe & Thrupp a 2-0 win at Shrivenham
       which keeps them in fourth spot whilst Corsham Town stayed in touch with the top
       teams by also winning away from home at Chipping Sodbury Town, 2-1. Tom Stocks
       gave Corsham the lead, but Sodbury appeared to have salvaged a point when Abdoulie
       Tunkara  equalized  with  ten  minutes  remaining.  However,  prolific  goal  scorer  Gary
       Higden grabbed a winner for the visitors with three minutes left on the clock.
       Westfields ran out 3-0 winners against lowly Lydney Town thanks to goals from Josh
       Hunt, Cawley Cox and Harrison Summers.
       Longlevens’ run of poor results continued as they lost 3-1 at Bradford Town. Charlie
       Watson, Jacob Brown and George Box netted for the Wiltshire side and James Sunley
       scored a consolation goal for Longlevens.
       Calne Town remain in the bottom three places after a 2-0 home reverse by Hereford
       Lads Club for whom whilst Hallen’s woes are increasing by the week. They lost 3-1
       at home to local rivals Thornbury Town despite a goal from Jake Jackson and remain
       rooted to the basement of the table.
       Lewis  Ellington  and  Neikell  Plummer  shot  Roman Glass St. George  to  a  2-0  win
       against Fairford Town at Oaklands Park.

       Clanfield ‘85’ did not play on Saturday but they held on to the top spot in Division One
       because  FC  Stratford  fell  to  a  2-1  home  defeat  by  fourth-placed  Studley.  Tom
       Parnaby’s strike was not enough for Stratford.
       In third spot, but only one point behind the top two teams is Cheltenham Saracens
       who won 2-0  against Moreton Rangers at the Big Local Stadium. Kai Mahon and
       Harry Duncan were on target for Saracens who have a game in hand on the leaders.
       Worcester Raiders powered to another big win, trouncing Malmesbury Victoria 6-
       1 on their own turf! Isaac Cooper and Ollie Thompson both scored doubles and there
       were singles for Jordan Cox and Vanylson Silva. Vics solitary response came from Sam
       Parker.
       Lennon Lewis notched the only goal of the game for Shortwood United as they took
       all three points from strugglers Abingdon United.
       Bourton Rovers remain in trouble after a 4-2 home defeat by Pershore Town. Aaron
       Brett  2,  Callum  Dark  and  Roland  Krol  saw  the  visitors  home;  Danny  Way  and  Alex
       Winter for Bourton.
       Littleton  were  2-0  winners  against  Cirencester  Town  Development  thanks  to
       David McQuaide and Ricardo Richards while Paul Jones, Jamie Price and Toby Wildig
       shot Hereford Pegasus to a 3-1 victory over Stonehouse Town.
       Milton United shared a 2-2 draw with Newent Town, with Tyriq Hunte and Freddie
       Kennedy on target for Milton, and Josh Coakley with a brace for Newent.
