Good evening all. This evening we welcome
the players , officials and supporters from
Shepton Mallet AFC to the AJN. Can I also
extend a warm welcome to our officials,
referee Mark McGowan and assistants Luke
Hulbert & Greg Wentland.

Mallet come to us this evening after a most
impressive victory in the FA Cup last weekend
at Melksham and a great start to the season
which sees them currently sitting in third
position in the Premier Division.

Our last two games have seen us pitted
against early season contenders Helston
Athletic and Buckland Athletic in games which were both keenly contested
and to be fair ,both could have gone either way.

Frustratingly we narrowly lost out at home to Helston in the dying minutes
after an impressive second half performance in which we looked the most
likely side to claim the points.

The draw at Buckland on Saturday was more than well deserved , we had
more than enough chances to win the game and some would say that we
probably should have done but that's football and we take the positives
from it and move forward. There is a long way to go but for me I take great
satisfaction that as a club we are competing against and asking questions
of some of the stronger sides in this league , another sign of how far we
have come and a tribute to the hard work of everyone at the club.

Whatever happens this evening we get a chance to do it all again on
Saturday when we make the return trip to Shepton. Sure to be another
great day out and I hope to see as many of you there as can be. Your
support is most appreciated . Enjoy this evenings game.
