View from the dugout
It been a good few weeks for us, November seen is boast 100% record. This
seen us win the Division 1 team of the month award with 48% of the vote.
No bad considering the players we missed during the month through one
reason or another.
Perksy managed to secure the signing of Jordan Me ers from Mangotsfield.
Me s is a proven player at this level and has also played for Manor Farm in
the Southern League. Welcome to the club Jordan.
Our last few results has shown the not only the class we have in the side but
the character & bonding amongst the players.
Last month we started with a 4-1 win away to Hengrove we went 1-0 down
but 2 late 1st half goals from Ricke s & Buck followed by 2 late 2nd half
goals from Nielsen & Scadding giving us the 3 points.
We then toiled to a 1-0 win over Telephones with Ricko scoring a late
penalty to secure the points.
We were then pa ent in our 4-1 over Bishops Lydeard with goals from
Dodimead, Buck, Ricke s & J Dunn.
Leaders show their worth
We followed this with a strong performance against Su on who looked
determined to try & keep the game at 0-0 and his us on the break. But we
kept to our task and late goals from Buck, Mclennan & White gave us a 3-0
win.
We have started December well we were good for our 4-1 at AEK Boco last
week with goals from Buck, Jones 2 & Ricke s.
On Tuesday we were involved in a cracking game at Telephones in the Les
Phillips Cup. A er being 4-0 down we came back to win the game 5-4 with
goals from White 2, Buck 2 & Griffiths. Buck scoring in the last minute to see
us progress to the next round.
We now face some tough games going into Christmas with Radstock our
visitors today before the massive game against Nailsea next week. And then
Shire on Boxing Day.
Wells & Nailsea have both slipped up in recent weeks & we have to keep the
pressure on and capitalise when they do. We are in a decent run at the
moment with one defeat in the last 19 games. We need to keep it going.
Enjoy the game & Merry Christmas from the 1st team.
