WELCOME

Good afternoon and welcome to this afternoon’s FA Trophy tie against Weston
Super Mare. A very warm welcome to Scott Bartlett and his management team, the
squad, club officials and supporters who have made the short trip this afternoon.
We hope you enjoy your visit and wish you a safe journey home.

For those of you who supported us on Tuesday evening we hope you enjoyed an
entertaining cup tie against our near neighbours Slimbridge. It was an entertaining
tie, with some cracking goals and the chance for a few more players to get some
game time. Of note Louis Evans appeared in goal and pulled off some terrific saves.
The end result was a convincing win for the Bluebells after three defeats on the run
which brought a much needed feel good factor to the dressing room. The date of
the next round is still to be confirmed but we will face Cheltenham Town Reserves,
       venue TBC.

Sadly we have lost one of our loyal backroom staff this week. For those of you that
know Gary Webb you will appreciate how much he loves his football and has been
involved locally as player, referee, coach and most recently Yate Town’s Kitman.
Gary had originally decided to take a break at the end of last season due to
commitments outside of supporting the club. Despite this he returned to the role
at the start of 2022/23 season to help us out but his time is precious and he now
needs to step back from the role of Kitman. We thank Gary for his efforts but you
will see him occasionally at home matches helping out the management team. It
does of course mean we now have an opening for his successor and will be
recruiting a new Kitman. Get in touch if you are interested!!

And so to this afternoon’s visitors. The Seagulls are flying high at the moment
sitting second in the table with a game in hand over the leaders Truro. Their league
position has been achieved through winning 7 out of 9 matches scoring 26 goals
conceding only 7. They are through to the 4Q of the FA Cup having won their 3Q
match comfortably 7-2 and will be keen to get a good run going in the FA Trophy
as well. One to watch is Dayle Grubb who regularly appears on the score sheet,
including two against us when we visited them in the league, including that late
winner. Of course they do have a full back on loan from Taunton Town who many
will recognise from last season, if ’Tunns’ makes an appearance we will give him a
       warm welcome.

       C’mon you #Bluebells………….
