P. 3
Good evening all.
Tonight we extend a warm welcome to the
players, officials and supporters of Wells
City for this Les Phillips Cup Preliminary
Round tie. We also welcome our match
officials this evening , referee Will Payne
and assistants Ian Purchase & Luke Iles.
Both clubs will be keen to progress to the
next stage and I anticipate a highly
competitive contest, which is what we
come to expect whenever these two sides
meet.
The lads will be looking to bounce back
after last Saturdays slender defeat at
Wellington. In a game of few clear cut chances played in a swirling wind,
I thought we looked good for a point but sadly it was not to be and we went
down to a late goal.
I might be wrong, but I can't remember us ever getting anything at
Wellington, it just seems to be one of those places where things don't work
out for us but I am sure we will put that right one day.
It was nice to see so many of you here for our last home league game
against league leaders Tavistock and nicer still to hear so many
complimentary comments on the team’s performance from those who I was
able to talk with after the game. I hope that you enjoy tonight's game as
much and also hope to see you here again this coming Saturday, when we
entertain Millbrook in the League.
Thank you for coming and thank you for your support.
