KEYNSHAM TOWN LADIES 4
Secretary’s Notes
Good evening all as tonight we welcome Cardiff City Ladies for our first evening
game of the season. We trust they had a safe journey over the bridge and an equally
safe journey home again although some do not reside on the other side of the Avon.
I am still having problems finding out who our match officials are as The FA MOAS
system, which has this information, is still proving to be inaccessible, at least to me,
despite my pleas. I could get paranoia here! Once again I have had to ask my
friendly contact at the Somerset FA to look it up for me. Then having contacted the
officials, one assistant pulled out and the replacement then tested positive for Covid.
Fortunately tonight’s referee kept me informed as I asked her to since I didn’t trust
MOAS. Just as well I didn’t! I wish they would get it sorted as I am fed up with
having to ferret information out on what should be a basic. Our opposition tonight
are lucky that they don’t experience this problem as they come under the Welsh FA.
On the subject of ferreting, after extensive research I have found more football facts
which possibly you may not know for the programme but I don’t know how long I
can keep this up for! Anyway I hope you find the article interesting. I am not doing
the Sudoku this season (printer heaves a sigh of relief)! There is still a Bristol Rovers
fan joke in with the other ones. We then have another programme to produce for
Sunday when we are home to Plymouth Argyle Ladies.
We are having to pay more for our match officials this season with their fees having
been increased by £10 each which may not seem a lot but it is an additional £30 on
top of what we paid before. Plus the mileage has gone up from 28p per mile to 35p
per mile up to a maximum of £40 where it was £35 before. The League have not
told us of this – I think they were maybe hoping we wouldn’t notice. It just appears
on the Match Officials Expenses Card. So please don’t complain that the ground
entry fee has increased to £4. If you arrive in time you get a copy of our excellent
programme included and we hope you will see some good football this season
tonight’s game included.
Come the weekend we should have an excellent new hot drinks vending machine
installed that will take contactless payment although that will take a couple of weeks
longer to be applied. It will also take cash for those who do not have a card. It is
good news for Bovril aficionados as that will be one of the choices available. If you
prefer a cider the bar will still be open as it is tonight.
