From the Dugout

          End of Year Message
    End o f Y e a r M e s s a g e
The performance of our last home game against
Bracknell followed a similar recent trend of us playing
well and not being rewarded with anything from the
game. We made and missed chances, particularly in the
first half, but gave a soft goal away and then got caught
on the break for the second goal. In front of goal, it is
just not happening for us, and a lack of confidence when
chances are made is a growing consequence, whilst we
seem to be punished for every mistake we make.

In the first half at Chesham last week, we scored an
opportunist but well taken goal from Lucas Tomlinson,
having already made several early chances, then before
half time we had a shot cleared off the line. Still winning
1-0 going into added time in the half, and having coped
comfortably with the Chesham attack, we switch off at the final corner and concede
an equalizer. Then to compound this blow, another mistake in the first minutes of
the second half sees us 2-1 down, and now the whole impetus that we had in the
first half is gone and we are now facing opponents who have their ‘tails up’. The
result was never in doubt after that, Chesham looked and played like the good side
that they are, and only some desperate last ditch defending enable to keep the
         WELCOME
score down. This was a huge disappointment after the first half performance.
Today we welcome the Metropolitan Police FC players and officials for today’s
Southern League Premier South match here at Lodge Road. The Police are in good
recent form and on the edge of the play-off places and will no doubt be looking to
inflict more pain on the Bluebells as they go into their final six games of the season.
From our point of view we are still in with a mathematical chance of survival and
this run of poor results, but not all bad performances must change and why not
today? It will require commitment, skill and good play from us and a fair share of
the luck coming our way for a change. I know from the work we are doing in
training and the character of the players and my staff that this is still possible, but
this Easter weekend with today’s game against the Police and our trip to Merthyr
on Monday is hopefully a turning point for us.
On the playing side, I can report that:

Lewis Hall joined us from Swindon Supermarine before the deadline and made his
       debut against Bracknell Town.
Zachary Drew left the Club and joined Frome Town.

Your support as ever is welcomed and appreciated.

       Come on you Bluebells!!
