S-Tech Cambridgeshire League
Despite not having a game on Sunday, Cambridge University's title hopes were given a boost
as second placed Netherton Utd were beaten 3-2 by Peterborough Northern Star Res.
Tilly Fantom, Jessica Driscoll and Georgia Clarke scored the goals for Northern Star, who
stepped up their own challenge to move to a single point behind Netherton, who replied with a
brace from Yasmin Green. Cambridge City A follow on after beating March Town Utd 5-0,
Sofia Castiglione and Isabelle Ely each netting twice and Amie Fullwood adding the other. Fran
Kavanagh bagged both goals as Ketton won 2-1 away to Leverington Sports and St Ives
Town Development netted fourteen times against Riverside LFC, spearheaded by four-goal
hauls from Ruth Fox and Charlotte Noble. Tia Everdell weighed in with a hat-trick and the tally
was completed by Arianna Andrade (2) and Penelope Ford.
Cardea Ladies sealed the Championship North title via a fifteen-goal blast against
Cambourne Utd. Emma Pollard was on target eight times and there were doubles from Sophia
Amanor and Ella Harness, while Devon Caston, Anna Langa and Jessica O'Sullivan also got on
the scoresheet. Pinchbeck Utd and Park Ladies meanwhile battled out a 5-5 draw which
leaves Pinchbeck requiring a victory in order to pip Eaton Socon to second place. Libby Friel
(2), Chloe Gray (2) and Natalie Thomas scored the goals for Pinchbeck whilst Park, who can no
longer finish in the top two, responded with a Casey Ward double, Francesca Plitsch, Georgia
Stimson and an own goal. Swavesey Spartans defeated Brampton Ladies for the second
week in a row, this time winning 3-2 thanks to Daisy Edwards-Ainge (2) and Alex Herbert.
Things remain in the balance at the top of Championship South after leaders Histon
Res exchanged victories with Isleham Utd in a double header. Histon boosted their title hopes
with a 7-0 victory, Molly Blair netting twice along with Esther McTrusty, Tessa Shaw, Katie
Webb, Jodie Woodfield and Naomi Lyon, but Isleham gained revenge by winning 4-3 thanks to
Emily Mynott (2), Kate Silver and Kayla Simpkins. Newmarket Town Development are one
point behind in second place, with a game in hand, after they defeated Mildenhall Town 4-1
thanks to Kaitlin Elsey (2), Sarah O'Rourke and Clementine Key. Histon Hornets guaranteed
themselves a top half finish by scoring six times without reply past Haverhill Rovers
Community, courtesy of a Philippa Hayden-Evans hat-trick, Kirsty Lemmon-Sparkes (2) and
Anneka DeAth.
Eastbound Electrical Cornwall League
Saltash Borough still the chance to take a second place finish in the East Division following a
convincing victory over Charlestown, which leaves them having to beat newly crowned
Champions Saltash Utd in their final game in order to overhaul Callington Town Res. Sam
Metters led the scoring with a six-goal haul whilst Emily Congo contributed a further four and
Codie-Al Cleugh a hat-trick, with Sophie Perrin and Sophia Thorning-Curtis adding the other
goals.
North Riding League
Guisborough Town picked up the result they needed in order to secure the league title,
winning 3-1 away to Poppleton. Although they will finish in mid-table, Poppleton went into the
game with an unbeaten record but goals from Ellie Todd, Olivia Jeal and Rebecca Andrew
confirmed Guisborough as Champions, whilst the home side's consolation came from Lauren
Spurr.
