won a free kick with what would be the final kick of normal
time.
The set piece sailed over the crossbar and out of the ground.
The whistle blew to end proceedings, and Yate Town’s place in
round one was confirmed.
It was a truly unforgettable night for everyone involved with
the club, and now we eagerly await Darren Sarll’s Glovers next
weekend.
Until then, there are other matters at hand, and today we turn
our attention to the FA Trophy for the first time this season,
welcoming Devon outfit Willand Rovers to Lodge Road. We
wish everyone associated with Willand a very warm welcome
– we hope you enjoy your visit here and have a safe journey
home after the match.
The Southern League Division One South side visit today in
buoyant form – they are currently unbeaten in October, having
most recently drawn 1-1 with Winchester City last Saturday.
Prior to that, they have notched up league victories against
Larkhall and Evesham, and have also knocked out
Mangotsfield United in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA
Trophy to set up today’s tie.
Looking further ahead, we will be hosting Salisbury on
Tuesday November 2 (7.45 KO) before the eagerly-awaited
nd
clash with Yeovil, which will be our sixth consecutive home
game. As ever, all of your support is massively appreciated and
we hope to see you at all of these fixtures.
C’mon you Bluebells!
