Hellenic League Review…..

Premier Division pace setters Bishops Cleeve crashed to a 5-2 defeat at Westbury
United to record only their second setback of the season. Ricky Hulbert and an own goal
swapped goals with Cleeve’s Jack Watts who hit a brace before the home side hit the league
leaders with a three-goal blitz in the final five minutes. Harvey Flippance 2 and Joe Stradling
finished off Cleeve who now leads the top-flight by eight points from Malvern Town,
       Westfields and Brimscombe & Thrupp.
Malvern were held to a 2-2 draw at Hereford Lads Club. Having trailed at half time
through Harry Clark, Hereford levelled through Cameron Peters, but Ben Hayes restored
Malvern’s lead five minutes later. Jordan Burke brought the scores level once again before
being sent off two minutes from the end.
Westfields joined them on 46 points by beating Roman Glass St. George 4-1 at
Oaklands Park. Jamie Bird and Josh Hunt gave the visitors a two-goal lead before Junathain
Walker reduced the arrears on the half hour. However, two goals in two minutes early in the
second half from Matthew MacDonald and Daniel Stoneman settled the issue in the
       Herefordshire side’s favour.
The trio in second place is completed by Brimscombe & Thrupp who won 2-0 at Calne
Town with a double from Ben Baxter.
One point further behind are Corsham Town and Bradford Town. Corsham eased to a
3-0 success at Tuffley Rovers thanks to goals from Baldwin Igbinobaro, Gary Higdon and
an own goal. Bradford travelled to The Lawns to meet Cribbs and shared a goal less draw
with the hosts who now find themselves in seventh place.
Fairford Town romped to a 5-1 victory over Thornbury Town in an all-Gloucestershire
fixture. Danny Gudger and George Peare both scored twice along with one from Joe Hiscocks
for Fairford whilst Craig Lancastle replied for Thornbury.
At the bottom end of the table Hallen fell to another defeat, 5-1 at Longlevens and now
trail the rest of the league by nine points as Lydney Town took a point from a 1-1 draw
with Shrivenham. Substitute Matthew Board netted for Lydney in response to Shane
       Hibbert for the Wiltshire side.

Cheltenham Saracens suffered a shock 2-0 victory at home to Stonehouse Town for
whom Ellis Duffus and Liam Gale netted. Saracens thus failed to close the gap on leaders
Worcester Raiders who were without a game.
Studley leapfrogged Saracens into second spot with an emphatic 6-1 win at lowly Bourton
Rovers. On target were Mark Magee 3, Dale Edwards, Sean Brain and Dan Carter. Connor
Teague scored a consolation goal from the home side.
Clanfield ‘85’ and Milton United improved their promotion hopes with 3-2 victories.
Clanfield edged out Newent Town thanks to Jack Bellinger, Josh Gibbens and George
Seacole. On target for Newent was Jordan Cooper with a brace.
Milton had goals from Louis Bloomfield, Freddie Kennedy and Ollie Nadin in their win over
Hereford Pegasus. Replies for Hereford came from Carlos Moreira and Toby Wildig.
Pershore Town eased to a convincing 4-0 victory at Shortwood United thanks to Sam
Clark 2, Josh Willis and Roland Krol.
Matthew Bustin and Nathanael Robinson earned Abingdon United a 2-1 win over
Moreton Rangers to continue their climb away from the bottom of the table. Tom Dixon
       hit back for Rangers.
