Welcome

Good evening and welcome to The Field.

We extend a special warm welcome to the players, management and
supporters of Bristol Telephones FC, for this Toolstation Western League
First Division fixture. We hope they enjoy their short stay with us and have
a safe journey home tonight. We also offer our thanks to our Match Officials
for today and hope they enjoy the game.

After last Saturday’s gae against Warminster was postponed, this is our first
home game of 2022! So -

A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE,
                     FROM ALMONDSBURY FOOTBALL CLUB.

Not only is this season being played with an unusual backcloth where
everyone is trying to keep themselves safe; the football is anything but
consistent. Our results had been embarrassing during the early part of the
campaign but were suddenly excellent up to our home game against
Welton Rovers who came here defending an unbeaten league record and
       we stuffed them 3-0!
However, in another bizarre twist of fate, we haven’t won since! Defeats to
Sherborne, Lydney and Bishop Sutton with increasing scores against us has
pushed us back into the relegation fight. Three points today will end the
       year well.

Today we meet Bristol Telephones who are having a difficult season to date
and as such a tough game is anticipated.
We hope you will enjoy the game and look forward to seeing you all again.

       Mike Blessing
