WELCOME TO SHIREHAMPTON F.C.
Good evening and welcome to Bitton FC players, officials
and supporters. SHIREHAMPTON
Firstly I’d like to recap on last season and thank the FOOTBALL CLUB
players, supporters (not Ray or Nige) and the committee
for there help and support. That play off final was a cruel
way to end a season, on the day Oldland Just edged us but
had it not been for the floodlight failure and re-arranging President
the game I think we would have been a different team at Kelvin Gordon
full strength, having had time to reflect it was still a
fantastic achievement to get to where we did with the
resources we had available, looking back the biggest lesson Chairman:
learnt for me was to have a bigger squad this year, I relied Pete McCall
on youngsters who weren’t ready last year and maybe took petemccall1957@outlook.com
the easy option putting them on the bench than having a
more fuller squad. Also an improvement needed was
defensively, we scored lots of goals but also conceded far Secretary & Treasurer:
too many so thats been my main aim for areas of Mark Stockham
Improvement and I feel as though we have recruited well
in that area with only James Kenway still with us from last markstockham@yahoo.co.uk
years back 4.
Assistant Secretary:
It’s been an horrific pre-season, playing 6 and losing 6 and Richard Carey
then we put in a terrific performance Saturday to win
comfortably 4-0. It’s a funny old game as they say. r-carey&sky.com
From last year we no longer have Mitch Greenslade, Alex Matchday Secretary:
Wilson, Harvey Baker or Jordan Laraway with us but joining Nicky Carey
us are the following players- Ryan Sharpe, Otto Schwartz,
Charles Rendle, Eddie Polaine, Akram Abdullahi, Blake
Longden, Kevin Davis and Risuna Mabasa all 8 players have Committee Members:
made us stronger this season and it’s down to the players James Loud
now to earn the right to play, as I said previously it’s
something we were missing last season in terms of depth Sharlie Sollars
of the squad and it’s pleasing to now have 5 subs every Lee Rogers
week who can change a game for the better. Tom Donnely
Unfortunately some bad news is our leader and Captain
Matty McCall has had to retire from playing this season due Bar Manager:
to an ongoing hip problem, he has been brilliant on and off
the pitch for me in my 2 years at Shire. This came as a Alex Warman
shock to Matt and even more so to me when he told me
Saturday, I have offered him a role within the first team Club address:
management team which will remain open, at the moment
he’s still around but wants to process the the information Penpole Lane,
given to him last week before making a commitments. You Shirehampton
don’t get many blokes like Matt around anymore, honest Bristol BS11 0EA
and hardworking and he will be impossible to replace in the
changing rooms. I’d like to thank Matt for his support over
the last 2 years and wish him all the best, I’m sure knowing Telephone number:
his love and enthusiasm for Shire FC he will still be around 0117 235 461
come matchdays supporting the boys in some capacity.
Enjoy the game this evening and look forward to seeing Twitter: @OfficialShirefc
you all throughout the season.
