Will Fuller - The shot-stopper joined the Martyrs from Bath City after he featured
in the National League South for the Romans last season. Began his career at
Ipswich Town, before moving to Salisbury City, as well as making over 250
appearances for Cardiff Met University and starring in their Europa League
Qualifiers.
Liam Angel - The centre back progressed through The Bluebirds youth setup
before turning professional at Newport County in February 2016. Has been a
regular in the Wales youth team setup up to the U19s. Angel has also made over
150 Southern League appearances for Cinderford Town and Yate Town.
Tom Handley - Tom, a former Hartpury University student, can play with both feet
and is equally versatile in playing in full-back position. Tom was crowned Young
Player of the Year at Cirencester following a fine campaign last season in the
Southern League Division 1 South West, where he made 39 appearances for the
Centurions.
Zack Maher - Joins from Newport County after his contract expired in June 2022.
The young midfielder has featured a few times for County in the EFL Trophy
competition, most recently in their 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in the 2021/22
season.
Abubacarr Sama - ‘Abu’ made 27 appearances for Goytre in the Ardal Southern
League Division East last season. He has also featured for several other Welsh
League clubs including Caerau Ely, despite only recently turning 20. One for the
future, and he’ll sure add excitement to the supporters this season.
Ricardo Rees - Newport born, 22-year-old forward who joined from Yate Town in
June 2022. Made 36 appearances for the Bluebells last season and has enjoyed
Non-League experience with Bath City & Salisbury. Began his career at Sky Bet
Championship side Bristol City and became a regular in the Robins’ under-23 side
before leaving in 2020.
Gethyn Hill - Rejoins the Martyrs after a two-year spell at Taunton Town, enjoying
success in their title win for the 2021/22 season. Over 300 appearances in Non-
League with Cinderford Town, Hereford, Weston Super Mare and Taunton. Geth
had a brief spell with the Martyrs during the 2019/20 season, making 21
appearances.
Callum Ryan-Phillips – On 28 July 2022, Ryan-Phillips joined the Martyrs
following a successful trial period. The defender, formerly of Newport County, made
his senior debut for the County on 6 October 2020 in the starting line-up for the
5-0 EFL Trophy defeat to Norwich City Under 21's. Ryan-Phillips made his second
appearance for Newport on 10 November 2020 in the starting line-up for the 3–1
EFL Trophy defeat to Plymouth Argyle.
