Reserves Report
So after last weeks tough defeat to Stoke Gifford Reserves in the cup, it was
back to league action in a tough local derby against Hartcliffe,
This would be a good test of character especially on the back of lasts weeks
defeat, a few players came back into the starting 11, Henry, Harry and clarky
returned and Alex made his first start after 2 previous sub appearances.
The game started 100miles per hour both sides seemed very nervy on the ball,
but after 10 minutes we settled down and our first little spell a nice 1-2
between Jay and Henry saw the ball go back to Jay and his great cross was
headed home by Henry 1-0.
We then started to control the game although hartcliffe did look like they could
cause us trouble on the break, but shortly before half time a ball was played
into Rags feet a clever step over left Henry in 1 on 1 and he finished into the
bottom from just outside the box.
Half time 2-0 and we knew the game was far from over and the next goal would
be important, that was awarded to Hartcliffe 5 minutes into the second half a
soft penalty awarded for handball was converted 2-1 and game on. We
weathered the storm for a while and both sides looked dangerous on the
counter attack clarky making a good save before Olly put the ball wide from a
narrow position after rounding the keeper.
A well earned 2-1 win against tough opponents who are currently sat in a false
position, it won’t be long before they are climbing the table
No game this week so a well earned rest to watch the first team with a beer
