Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum

Good evening, welcome to the Lancer Scott
Stadium for tonight’s Friday night fixture versus
Bridgwater Town. We would normally offer a
warm welcome but as tonight’s temperature is
expected to be minus something that might prove
a little difficult. However, we hope all of you
        including tonight’s match officials, supporters,
players and committee members who have made
a short journey up the M5 from Bridgwater enjoy
their time with us and have a safe journey home.

There are a couple of familiar faces in the
Bridgwater squad, winger Connor Hartley was
with us last season scoring 5 goals in 24 games.
Centre half Jacob Spence joined us in 2019,
played 30 times for the club, picked up more yellow cards than goals scored!
So it won’t surprise you to hear that Jacob is suspended for this evening’s
fixture. Both are good players and were very popular during their time at the
        Lancer Scott.
Bridgwater arrive here in very good form with just 1 defeat in their last 9 games
and currently 2nd in the league, 2 points behind leaders Saltash, but have 2
        games in hand.

Next first team fixture here at the Lancer Scott, is Monday Dec. 26th when we
entertain Keynsham Town for our 1st home boxing day in 6 years, 1 pm kickoff.
Tomorrow I will be travelling to Yeovil with the reserves in the Somerset senior
cup 4th round tie against Dorset, Premier division, Westland sports. Just when
the Reserve’s started to find some good form, their season became stop start
and this will be their first fixture in 3 weeks. The reserves are here on Saturday,
December 17 for the local derby v Yatton & Cleeve utd, 2 pm kick off and mid-
week floodlight fixture on the 21st against local rivals Winscombe.
Bridgewater won the corresponding fixture last season, in February of this year
with a comfortable, 3- nil win. I know we now have a much stronger and
deeper squad from February last year, tonight is an opportunity to test
ourselves against one of the best teams in this division, so please cheer the
Stags on, enjoy your evening and hopefully we can keep the 3 points in North
        Somerset.

Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game and please respect the
        officials.
        UP THE STAGS,
        Mike, Chairman
