President’s
Thoughts
Today we welcome the players, officials and spectators of Portishead Town to ‘The
Lane’.
We had a good result in our previous meeting, running out 5-2 winners, so I hope
we can recreate that performance today.
The last few weeks have been difficult and we have steadily slid down the table, but
I’m experienced enough to know that in this league a couple of wins can make a
huge difference and I know that both our Management Team and the players are
working hard to eradicate the individual errors that have cost us dear recently.
Last week our game, like many others, fell foul of the atrocious weather and its a
reminder that we have been lucky up to now with surprisingly good weather. Let’s
hope last week was a ‘one off’ and that we can progress further before we start to
lose matches to the elements.
Please remember to utilise the various antiseptic gel stations at the entrance and in
the bar area. Whilst infection figures look to be falling this pandemic is far from over
and we want to make sure everyone is safe.
Lets hope for a well contested contest today and whatever the score, let’s all enjoy
the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement whether we agree or
not, as with-out officials we could not play the game…
Come and visit me in the kitchen at half time for hot drinks and hot food and failing
that I hope to have a beer with you all at the end
As we all say #Up the Phones
