Nick’s Notes. The Resies
So since our last catch up just the one game to report on was our
trip away v Cutters Friday, it wasn’t a classic probably helped by the
person officiating the game he was consistently inconsistent for
both sides and as a consequence this led to players and coaches
getting very disillusioned by what was happening. I am sure Harry
Hockin and Thomas Smart will agree with both sustaining nasty
ligament damage, not to mention Callum Biggins with his cut head.
Our opponents, with 4 draws in 7 games, were well organised and
tough to break down, we had a few half chances before Jake
Flower had a shot saved but Thomas Smart put the ball into the
net reacting first. The second half came and slowly our passing
game started to take its toll on the tiring opposition. The
introduction of substitute’s Hockin, Uppington and Stevens had the
desired effect, instant impact which led to Sonny Stiddard scoring
a brace and was the final nail in their coffin. Stiddard could well of
had a hat trick after some great build up play and a sublime cross
from Uppington was met at the back post but unfortunately he
couldn’t get the ball out of his feet quick enough.
A quarter of the season gone, we sit on top of the table, 5 points
clear but plenty of challenges ahead which we look forward to. No
game today, so our next game on the 30 away to Peasdown, and
th
that will be challenging! Followed by the next game at the Lancer
Scott Stadium, Saturday Nov. 6 , a juicy Somerset cup tie Vs
th
Broad Plain .
So that’s it from me for now just to wish our first team all the best
for today.
UP THE STAGS
