Tytherington Rocks Could Only Manage a Draw
Tytherington Rocks 2 Devizes Town 2
Tytherington hosted Devizes Town on Saturday
and on paper they should have won. However, it
was not to be.
Both teams were evenly matched during the first
half, although Tytherington had much of the
possession, but could not get the ball in the back
of the net. Bailey Croome came close hitting the
post with a flick on.
It was 0-0 at half time. In the 46th minute
Tytherington subbed 10 Matty Hoare for 17
Laurence LeFevre. In the 52nd minute Devizes
scored from a tap in, having previously survived a
strong penalty shout at the other end.
In the 55th minute Rocks brought off 7 Max
Wilding for 12 Ahmed. Tytherington gained
possession and in the 62nd minute, assisted by
Bailey Croome, LeFevre smashed the ball in off the
crossbar to make it 1-1.
Devizes fought back to score again in the 71st
minute with a goal by Sam Hughes, and the
pressure was on Tytherington to get at least one
more goal to secure a draw.
Another substitution, from Rocks Manager Jake
Edwards, saw 14 Orchard come on for 3 Ethan
McMahon in the 74th minute. LeFevre scored his
second goal in the 87th minute when the ball, sent
through by Bailey Croome, went over the keeper
and into the goal.
The final score was 2-2 and Rocks will be looking
for a win in their next home match against Odd
Down (Bath) on 26th March.
Nathan Croot was named Man of the Match for his
persistence and resilience during the game.
