P. 3
Good afternoon all and a very warm
welcome to the players, officials and
supporters of Wellington AFC. Also
welcome to today's match officials, referee
Mark Loughlin and assistants Dave Jones
and Steve Fearnley.
We come into the game in fine form having
won each of our last 5 games in all
competitions. The most recent of these
was last weekend’s memorable trip to
Cornwall where we managed to overcome
a strong Liskeard Athletic side in the FA
Vase to secure a place in the 3rd Round
Proper for the first time in 18 years or so,
I believe. Thank you to the supporters who
made the long trip to cheer us on, you
really do make a difference.
Today promises to be another difficult test for us, but after recent events I
am sure that lads will be full of confidence and itching to go.
As things have turned out, unless something of the unexpected happens,
today's encounter will now be our last home game before Christmas, so as
odd as it feels to be saying it at the end of November, can I wish you and
your families a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!
I hope to see many of you before that of course, as December sees us
taking in exciting trips to such places as Weston-Super-Mare (Somerset
Cup) , New Milton Town (New Forest) in the FA Vase, our prize for our
victory at Liskeard, and Tavistock. It all kicks off however with a leisurely
trip to Ashton & Backwell next Saturday - it would be good to see you there!
Enjoy the match today and as always thank you for coming.
