It’s so good to actually be writing a chairman’s report for an actual league match
!!!
There is no need to go over what has happened in the last 16 months or so but
it’s safe to say that it has certainly been a big challenge for all of us who assist
in running this brilliant club.
The biggest change for us all is that we now find ourselves in the Hellenic
Premier League after being moved laterally at step 5. A league we used to play
in 21 years ago. We now look forward to the new challenge and the new teams
we will be visiting.
Today we welcome Corsham Town to the Auen Tips stadium, another team that
have moved from the Western League. All of us at Hallen wish them a warm
welcome and hope they enjoy their visit.
Some of you visiting for the first time in a while will no doubt notice a few
changes at the ground. A few new enclosures that have been built during the
lockdown period. They look really good and I can’t thank the volunteers enough
who have given up so much time to make this happen. Special thanks however
must go to Mark Snook and our vice chairman Andy Hicks who along with other
committee members have worked so hard.
Finally, I want to wish Dean Horseman and his management team all the very
best for the season, he has brought in Tony Beecham as his assistant who we at
Hallen know so well and who I am personally happy to see back at the club. Even
though we know the league is strong, myself and the club are looking for a big
improvement this year and to be at the right end of the table. I have every
confidence that we can do this and can’t wait for us to get going again.
Up the Hallen
