Premier Division: Tavistock have stolen a march on their tle rivals, moving two points
clear atop the division following a tense 1-0 win away at Brislington. The vital goal came
early in the second half, with midfielder Warren Daw rising highest to head home a set
piece for the victorious Lambs. Exmouth and Mousehole remain locked together on 61
points in second and third a er they cancelled each other out at Trungle Parc (pictured,
right). In front of a mega crowd, the sides ba led out a rare goalless draw, allowing
Tavistock to go two clear atop the table. Another clean sheet allowed Bridgwater to
capture another ght victory, with the Somerset side having now pitched shut outs in
seven of their last eight league fixtures. Their latest win came away at Ilfracombe Town,
with a powerful header from Ross Edwards early in the second half helping them
consolidate fourth spot. It was a strong a ernoon for most of the sides in the top half, with
a trio of this season’s leading protagonists reaching the 50-point mark on Saturday. This
included Helston, with the Cornish ou it having Stu Bowker to thank for their 2-0 victory
away Street, with their leading marksman striking in either half against the Cobblers. Since
the turn of the year, Clevedon Town have been outstanding, and that con nued this
weekend, with a quickfire double from Alex Camm and Glen Hayer at the end of the first
half leading them to a 2-0 triumph at home to Buckland Athle c. The in-form Shepton
Mallet completed the trio to rack up their 50 a er they claimed an impressive 3-0 win
away at Millbrook. Mallet suddenly have four wins on the bounce in all compe ons, and
they got started early on Saturday, surging into a fourth minute lead through Jacob
Slogge . Joe Morgan was then on hand to make it 2-0 following more strong work from
Slogge , with Josh Williams comple ng the scoring midway through the second half. Fi h-
placed Saltash maintained their lead on the chasing pack a er they held on to beat Ashton
& Backwell 2-1. Goals from Rubin Wilson and Sam Hughes either side of half me did the
damage for the hosts, with Backwell’s a empts at a late comeback falling short at The
Kimberley Stadium. Another home side to come out on top were Keynsham Town, with
their 2-0 win over Bi on helping them leapfrog their opponents up into tenth. A er going
ahead in the 20 minute through Jordan Me ers, the K’s finally wrapped up the points

midway through the second half with Will Hailston added to his large tally of goals this
season. Wellington ended a long winless run by holding on to beat Cadbury Heath 3-1.
Having gone ahead in the 22 minute thanks to a curling finish by Sam Towler, Welly were
nd
pegged back midway through the second half when Ma Huxley volleyed home.
Fortunately for the home crowd, the hosts hit back instantly with Jake Quick restoring their
advantage, before Jordan Casey struck late on to confirm the des na on of the three
points.
