Message from the Secretary
As we reach the end of this season a er 2 disrupted seasons it is me for me to step down
from the team side of my roles within Brislington FC.
I have been involved in the playing side of the club for 21 years now. First as a player for
the 3rd team which I was only helping out for a few games and ended up staying this long.
I followed this up with being manager of the 3rd team & Reserve team.
7 years ago I became part of Perksy’s management team when he took over from me as
reserve team manager. Followed up by following him when he took the 1st team job as a
physio as well. There have certainly been some ups & downs over the past 7 years. There
have been some great results & some absolute shockers.
The one that comes to mind is the 3-2 win away to Plymouth Parkway. That was some
coach journey back.
But now I need to step away from the 1st team. The travelling has got ridiculous at this
level of football. And my family have come 2nd on to many occasions. So I feel I need to
devote more me to them.
While I will s ll con nue my role as secretary & other bits and pieces. And will s ll con nue
to a end home games & enjoy a beer or two.
I feel that Perksy & Rich need someone who can commit 100% to them.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my me involved with the 3 teams over the last 20+ years and
made some great friends.
Today will be my last game in the dugout as I go on holiday to Jamaica in a couple of weeks
and need to have a nega ve Covid test just before we go. So I need to stay clear of crowds
of people the week before especially with Covid s ll very much about.
I will finish by thanking Perksy & Rich for being totally suppor ve of my decision both of
them are top Clubmen, who do much and who I have loads of me & respect for.
Thanks to Kev Jacobs (Aggi) for stepping in for me at games to do the team sheets when
I’ve not been there.
Also thanks to Lee Williams, Sharon, Steve Jenkins, Steve Rogers & all the people who I’ve
worked with over the years at the club.
But most of all thanks to my wife Ange & my two kids Cameron & Abbie who have put up
with a lot over the years.
It’s been an absolute pleasure at this wonderful football club.
All the best
Kev
