Good afternoon and a very warm welcome to the
players, coaching team and supporters from
Torpoint Athletic for this Toolstation Western
League Premier Division clash. Our committee
would also like to welcome today’s match officials,
referee David Middleton and his 2 assistants, Mark
       Oswin & Oliver Loveridge.

We will still have our last 3 League games to look
forward to in front of our loyal fans, starting today,
which is the final match of a Crown Fields “triple
       header” over the Easter weekend!
Good Friday saw the lads come from a goal behind at half time to run out
deserved 2-1 winners over Ashton & Backwell United. Sahr Nanoh and
Jemar Thomas notched the goals, and the win takes us 3 points clear of
Cadbury Heath in the battle to avoid finishing 19 in the table. The players
                                                      th
showed real resilience in the last 20 minutes against physical opponents
and the result shows how far our young braves have progressed in only a
few months of playing Mens’ football.

With Bitton having resigned from the Premier Division earlier in the season,
thereby filling a ”relegation” place, there are so many variables that will
contribute towards whether a second club is relegated, such as existing
Premier clubs requesting either lateral moves to another League or
voluntary relegation in light of the colossal travel costs that all clubs must
bear. Therefore the fate of the club finishing 19th will not be known until
the FA publish next season’s constitution in the middle of May.

Easter Saturday saw our Reserves host Middlezoy Rovers in the Somerset
Senior Cup semi-final. Despite taking an early lead and coming back from
2-1 down to equalise, Middlezoy made the most of a couple of defensive
lapses to run out 4-2 winners.

Next up for the Ks is the visit of title-chasing Mousehole to Crown Fields
next Saturday (15 April) at 3.00pm, in what promises to be a cracker of a
                        th
       game!
I hope you have had a happy Easter, and thank you as always for your
       valued support. Up the Ks!!

       Jules French (Club Secretary)
