Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum

Good afternoon, welcome to the Lancer Scott
Stadium, we wish you all a wonderful Christmas
and a festive welcome particularly to today’s
match officials, supporters, players and officers of
        Keynsham Town.
This is actually our 1 home Boxing Day fixture in
                           st
6 years, that didn’t go well as we lost to
Portishead 0-2. We made amends 2 years later at
Portishead with a convincing 6-0 victory. Last
Christmas we travelled to Brislington on the 27 ,
                                                   th
that didn’t end well either losing 4-0. I am hoping
for a better present this year.
We face a different Keynsham side from previous
seasons following John Allan’s move in the
summer from the AJN stadium to Mangotsfield. Keynsham made the brave
decision to invest in youth and tied up Total Pro Soccer academy, led by Ashley
        Morgan and Marvin Brown.
Fielding teams made up entirely of youngsters, the opening games were a
baptism of fire, and Town do currently sit at the bottom of the table. But don’t
be fooled, recent results show the talent within their club, 1-1 with southern
league Paulton Rovers, losing by the odd goal to much fancied Mousehole and
victories over Millbrook and Tytherington suggest they are getting to grips with
this level. You may recognise a couple of familiar face in amber and black,
Henry Sady who made 14 impressive performances for us last season and
keeper Joel Manning who played 3 games on loan when Coomber was injured,
        welcome back lads.
Last Saturday, yet again we got on a coach to Cornwall not knowing if the game
@Torpoint was going to be played. See the match report for more details but I
wished now we had agreed with everyone at Torpoint club who didn’t want to
        play!
Please see the fixture list for re-arrangements to the Mousehole (a) and
Bridgwater (H) matches that were postponed. Next game here is the Reserves
                               st
                                                       th
v Saltford on Saturday 31 December 2pm, then a 4 round Somerset Senior
cup tie on Wednesday 4 January v Westlands sports.
                              th
Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game and please respect the
        officials.
        UP THE STAGS,
        Mike, Chairman
