Manager’s View

Afternoon everyone

Today we welcome the management, players, officials
and supporters of Wick Football Club to Norman Scott
Park for another huge fixture in the Marcliff
Gloucestershire County League.

We come into today’s game having produced arguably
one of our best performances of the season away at
Rockleaze Rangers last Saturday. To leave Hillside Gardens with a point in the bag,
and possibly doing enough to win the game, against a team that we’re flying high
in the top 3, could prove to be vital come the end of the season.

Whilst results may tell you a different story, our performances in general of late have
been very much improved and take away the Stoke Gifford game which was just a
very bad day at the office, we have shown recently that we can compete and give
anybody a game in this division. Unfortunately, it’s a well known fact that when you
are fighting down at the wrong end of the table, things don’t usually go for you and
that has certainly been the case recently. If we can limit our mistakes both
collectively and individually then we will continue to give ourselves the best possible
opportunity to stay in this division.

Our fixtures over the past few weeks and looking ahead a few weeks certainly don’t
come any harder on paper but luckily for us, football isn’t played on paper, as if it
was then quite a few would have written us off before we have even set foot onto
the pitch!! Our mindset in the changing room though doesn’t change, we try not to
let the outside noise affect us and we simply have 10 cup finals left to play. Damo
and I really feel that we have a group of lads who are as committed to the cause as
we are and we will all continue to give blood, sweat and tears for this club.

On behalf of the management and players at the club, I would like to thank you all
as always for your continued support, especially to the volunteers behind the scenes
who do so much for this football club that we all take for granted! I can assure each
and everyone of you that it is very much appreciated by us all.

We hope that you enjoy today’s match and we look forward to seeing you all in the
bar afterwards to spend some of your winnings from Cheltenham!!
