Norfolk League
Sprowston Ladies did their hopes of a top half finish no harm at all as they won 2-1 away
to Bungay Town, Madison Lee and Anais Winney scoring their goals. Long Stratton
meanwhile would have gone into second place with a victory but were beaten 3-1 by Caister
Ladies, whose markswomen were Megan Bartlett, Rebecca Waters and Hazel Saddington.
In Division Two, Aylsham Women have climbed into second following a large
victory away to FC Viking Valkyries. Jordan Arnoup led the scoring with an eight-goal
haul and she was joined on the scoresheet by Michaela Brown, Hannah Claughton, Charlotte
Crane, Rhiannon Dack and Florence Simpkin. Shrublands Ladies meanwhile moved out
of the bottom two at the expense of opponents Bulldogs Ladies after a Rachel Adams
double and Samantha Burgess gave them a 3-1 success.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League (by Julian Barker)
Leah Kerr and Beth Tonner were the scorers as Mosborough recorded a 2-0 victory over
Division Two leaders Handsworth Development. Handsworth remain on 27 points, but
have just three games left. Their three point advantage looks fragile as each of the trio of
teams realistically involved in the title chase has three games in hand on the table toppers and
fourth placed Mosborough’s victory put them just two points behind the pair of Penistone
Church and Swallownest who have 24 points each.
Ellie Martin gave Mind Over Matter a half time lead at home to Wickersley Youth,
the Division Three encounter ending 1-1 with Abigail Glossop on target for the visitors.
This season’s Cup final will be between AFC Bentley and Brunsmeer Athletic after
the pair emerged victorious from the semi finals against other teams in the top four of
Division One. AFC Bentley ceded ground advantage when their own pitch was unfit and their
tie against Kiveton Park ended up being played at Kiveton. Jenny Knibbs (2), Gemma
Harte, Becky Kendell and Jenna McGee scored for Bentley, while Kiveton’s goals in a 5-3
defeat came from Mikayla Harper, Sophie Ibberson and Sara Tyler. Brunsmeer players will
be no strangers to the final at Shelley FC as most of them appeared in last season’s final for
Rotherham United Reserves (who became Brunsmeer in the close season). Sarah Middleton,
Sade Okuyemi and Bradie Wild had Brunsmeer 3-0 ahead away to Chesterfield Women
who netted a late consolation via Steph O’Brien.
Staveley Miners Welfare had a walk over against Swallownest in their Shield
quarter final and they will now host Mosborough in the semi finals to decide who goes
through to meet Penistone Church in the final. Penistone were 4-3 away winners over
Sheffield Utd Community Development whose goals came from Sophie Eyre (2) and
Channy Rymer.

The only two matches in the league on Sunday were played in Division Two North, which
wraps up the programme in that division for the campaign. Berrow have had a good season
overall and it will end in a third place finish,
after they defeated Paulton Rovers Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
