The County Leagues...
Gloucestershire League
Gloucester City have moved level on points with Bristol & West after beating them 4-1
in the solitary Division One match to be played on Sunday. Kate Ambrey scored twice for
Gloucester, with Beth Smith and Rakiya Morgan-King accounting for the others, and Beth
Clatworthy grabbing a consolation for the visitors.
Dursley Town are back on top of Division Two following their 3-1 against
Cirencester Town, who would have led the table themselves had they avoided defeat.
Lucy Jones and Morgan Tayler both scored for Dursley, along with an own goal. Dursley
therefore head the table on goal difference from Tuffley Rovers and two points just a
single point behind - Cirencester and Bristol Rovers Development, who beat Red
Falcon Club 3-1. Gift Ihejieto (2) and Rosie Hall scored the goals to give Rovers victory,
with Harriet Hoare replying. Michaela Dowie had a great day in front of goal, scoring all four
as Ellwood edged out Cheltenham Civil Service 4-3, the home side responding with
strikes from Gemma Riley (2) and Petra Ratajova.
Bradley Stoke have pulled six points clear at the top of Division Three, thanks to
a 5-1 victory over Winchcombe Town. Hollie Shone netted twice and she was joined on
the scoresheet by Chloe Brown, Emily Jacklin and Alex Thomson. Second placed
Whitchurch & Bristol suffered a setback as they were beaten 3-1 by Downend Flyers
Res. Faith Flynn (2) and Ella Thresher scored the goals for Downend, with Holly Longman
replying. Kingswood Women meanwhile kept their hopes alive by winning 3-1 at
Southmead Community Sport, courtesy of an Amy Lewis double and Connie Watt.
Danielle Lusmore scored the only goal of the game for Olveston Utd Res as they returned
to winning ways with a 1-0 success against Mitcheldean SC, and Stoke Lane Athletic
were 2-1 victors away to Tewkesbury Town thanks to Ella King and Eleanor Davey.
Greater London League
County Cup duties meant that the action in the league was confined to the Sue Sharples
Memorial Trophy on the weekend, with the latest round of group matches.
Tooting Bec Development are the early leaders of Group A after they won 2-1
away to Camden Town Red. Bryony Bancroft and Ellie Wade were the scorers for Tooting,
with Jackie Spang replying. Sutton Utd U21 meanwhile opened up their fixtures by
beating Ridgeway Rovers thanks to Thalia Deblaoui (2) and Mary Guirieoulou, Olivia
Corbett grabbing a consolation for the visitors.
In Group B, an Aurela Shehu goal earned Islington Borough Res their first point
as they shared a 1-1 draw with CB Hounslow Utd Res, who scored through Zoe Rafferty.
Actonians Ladies Development kept up their fine form in Group C, opening up
a lead of five points with an 8-3 victory away to Rose FC Women. Catherine Birch netted
three times for Actonians whilst Gabby Killeen and Rosie Hay each contributed a further two
and Rebecca Joyce was also on target. Tarjau Louis scored a hat-trick for Rose but ended up
on the losing side. Falhat Husein and Victorious Olamona were on target for Hilltop
Women who are in second following their 2-2 draw with Civil Service, whose replies
came via a Natasha Temple double. Alex Duberry bagged a hat-trick along with Ashleigh
Lewis-Shodeinde, Eliz Ibraham and Chloe Holness as Impact FC Women ran out 6-0
winners over South East Parakeets Development.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League
Dronfield Town moved top of Division One on goal difference following their 9-2 victory
over bottom team Wakefield Trinity U21. Dronfield’s goals were spread around the team
