From the dugout
A few words from the manager...
Cheltenham Civil Service 3 vs 3 Filton Athletic (19th April 2025)
“Sadly it was another disappointing performance on Saturday, with several
lads missing through injury and having played so many games on the bounce
it has really started to show in our last few outings. We have really lacked the
usual energy, commitment, and quality from previous months.
It just wasn’t meant to be with Cheltenham having 3 shots and scoring all 3,
the last of which following a very dubious free kick - although the young lad
dispatched it well.
We have had a week of rest now so hopefully we can finish the season well
and this being the last home game of this season it would be nice to get all 3
points.
All in all as I reflect on the season so far I have to say it has been an
outstanding season and the effort from the lads has been fantastic. With the
remaining fixtures we cannot finish any lower then 6th which is the highest
position the club has ever finished in its history. I know that everyone at the
club is proud of all the players efforts achieving that. Hopefully we can get as
many points as possible from these next 3 games and with a bit of luck get a
top 4 finish. We have learned a lot from this season so with that in mind and a
slight strengthen to the squad we can really push on next season.”
