Good afternoon and a very warm welcome to the
players, coaching team and supporters from
Ilfracombe Town for this Toolstation Western
League Premier Division clash. Our committee
would also like to welcome today’s match officials,
referee Simon Laraway and his 2 assistants, Dave
Jones & Andy Dixon.
Last week saw another frustrating afternoon for the
Ks, as we more than matched the League leaders
Saltash United for 70 minutes, only to concede late
goals to give them a somewhat flattering scoreline.
One major positive though was to see Jemar Thomas back to full fitness
after his broken collar bone suffered at Street 4 months ago. His pace and
trickery will be key in the remaining games this season.
Another Ks regular has “flown the nest” this week, with centre-half Kyle
Anderson being snapped up by Southern League Premier outfit North Leigh,
who play 2 levels higher than the Ks in the Non-League Pyramid. Whilst we
are obviously disappointed to lose Kyle so quickly after Owen Brain took the
same step up, this rubber stamps the project we have committed to with
Total Pro Soccer to develop and bring through young talent at Crown Fields.
The lads have a chance to turn their attention to cup action this week, when
we visit local rivals Brislington in the Les Phillips League Cup Quarter Final
on Tuesday 21 March (19:30 kick-off). This will be followed by away games
st
at Bridgwater Town (Saturday 25 March) and Buckland Athletic (Saturday
th
1 April), thus bringing this season’s “away” League campaign to an end.
st
We will still have our last 4 League games to look forward to in front of our
loyal fans though, starting with the visit of Ashton & Backwell United on
Good Friday.
Thank you as always for your valued support. Up the Ks!!
