ICT Planning Tools
Benoit met with Jo Anne Jackson (Deputy Superintendent) in order to develop curricu- lum tools for ICT implementation. This quickly became an issue at all schools when at- tempting to share ICT projects from various grade levels at different schools across the district. Currently the school administrative teams do not mandated a specific planning format for curriculum instruction. As a result there is a great variance in the degree of documented planning tools for lesson plans, unit plans and professional growth plans.
This makes it very difficult to share ICT project with other teachers across the district because the degree of planning and ICT outcome completion become very ambiguous. This is where the Alberta Learning Commission is very clear. “ Learn with technology not about technology.” It is important that all schools have a clear plan for ICT imple- mentation that is designed and monitored on a yearly bases. This will ensure we are do- ing every thing possible to implement the provincial ICT outcomes within the parame- ters of the current staff skill sets, student skill sets, computer equipment and software programs.
