Skilled Technical Staff
Lakeland Catholic is located 250 Km North East of Edmonton and is considered to be a northern community. With this perception it makes it difficult to attract qualified technical staff to the region. In 2005 - 2006 the district was fortunate to hire Kurt Kraushaar.
Kurt’s knowledge in the Windows and Apple Technology was a key in moving the district to the next level. In one year Kurt moved the district from a Novell Netware server infrastructure to a Windows Active Directory environment. He has also been instrumental in transitioning the school district to the provincial SuperNet Network. Over the last 10 years Kurt and associated

suggested improvements. •Permanent computer desk furniture require in labs.
•School networking cabling needs to be properly terminated, tested and labelled throughout the building.
•Breezecom modem needs to be mounted in the ceiling and secured. •The wireless system needs to addressed so the 56k wired access can be removed.
•Science labs removed should have the TV mounts moved to another location to avoid possible injury.
