Suggested areas of expanded responsibility and management would include:

Implementation and annual renewal of the District Technology Plan including: Goal One: Student Learning;
Goal Two: Teachers, Staff and Curriculum;
Goal Three: Library and Learning Resources;
Goal Four: Information Infrastructure and Technical Support
Goal Five: Administrative Support and
Goal Six: Management, Planning and Partnerships;
Information and communication technology hardware, software, network and infrastructure;
Integration of Information and communication student outcomes; and
The District Resource Centre (proposed see Action 3.1.1 in Goal Three: Library and Learning Resources Support).
Indirectly, but corroboratively and/or in partnerships:
All school libraries;
All Library Technicians;
All School Tech. Teacher Leaders;
All Educational Technology Support positions;
All information and communication technology infrastructure Support Staff;
All computer lab and other learning locations; and
Technology facilities and planning.

• Network of Innovative Schools, an program aimed at establishing a network of schools across Canada, which demonstrate leadership in ICT implementation;

• Network to Savings, a program that provides opportunities for schools to purchase computer equipment, software and educational products at a discount;
• Community Access Program, a program that provides funding to help communities connect to the Internet, and
• Youth Employment Initiative, a program that provides funding to employ youth in technology-related jobs for a specified period of time.
