3. Libraries
One of the great success stories of the District is the implementation of Library Automation Software. Every Library in the District uses the same software, Athena. This software was first implemented District wide in September 1998. Every Li- brary Technician has embraced this software, and all really like it. Athena is a pow- erful system that is available to all computers in every classroom. In addition, it is very easy to use and administer. Like any good Library automation program, it is server based, so the information is accessible to all.
Recommendation:
1. Nothing at this point in time.
Assumption Three Phase Renovation Project - New Library
1. Move the Server Closet to a secure place, or build a good solid cabinet around the existing Server Closet to provide some
level of security.
2. Install Ethernet cards in the Macintosh computers to enable them to be used throughout the school for Internet browsing, word processing, e-mail, etc.
