2.8 Deputy Superintendent’s Cold Lake Office
The review indicated:
•There is a computer workstation here. It is standalone right now, and is not con- nected to the Wide Area Network.
Recommendation:
1. Run a 10base2 ThinNet outdoor cable overhead from the church to the school. This will give the Deputy Superintendent network connectivity for access to file servers, Internet, and potentially
e-mail.

2.9 St. Dominic Elementary School
The review indicated:
•The Server Closet is in the Library, in a very unsecured spot. (At time of site visit, it doubled as a puppet show theatre!)
•The classrooms in the old section of the school have one network drop. The new wing has six drops per room. Each room has a PC for a teacher/student worksta- tion. There are many Macs sitting around that could be used.
•The Lab has the nicest wiring anywhere in the school District. All wiring is termi- nated on a Bix block, which is then connected via ethernet patch cables to the hubs and switches. The Lab is currently offline, but will soon have 30 Pentium II 350 computers. The Lab will print to a LexMark Optra S 1625n or a LexMark Optra 45n Colour Inkjet printer, or both.
•The School owns an AverKey display box for presenting computer data on the Television set.
•The Staff room is in the old wing, and houses an Optra R+ where most staff do their printing.
•The Office area has four workstations. The Secretary has an HP Scanner, as well as an Optra R+ laser printer on her desk. The laser printer is shared via Windows Printer Sharing.
•The CST office has a computer and LexMark Optra E laser printer.
•The Library has:
•six student workstations, utilizing a LexMark Optra R+ laser printer; and Internet access is via a 56K modem connected to a WinGate computer.
