WAREHAM UNITED REFORMED CHURCH
During the Covid
Lockdowns one of my tasks,
and I have to say great
pleasure of having the time,
has been to properly sort
through photographs
inherited from my Mum.
During that process I found
these two of Church
Outings and as we will
hopefully soon be able to
resume such get togethers, I thought it would be good to share them.
The black and white picture (early 1960's) is Stourhead and shows left to right Mrs
White, Sunday School Teacher, Rev. T Watkins, Bessie Christopher, Sunday School
Teacher with my Mum Audrey and sister Nicola.
The coloured picture is at Christchurch Bandstand with my family (all dressed the
same), our neighbour Florrie, Dorothy Pell and Adrian and the Frost family.
We also had a Sunday School outing every year to Weymouth which I remember
quite clearly. As well as the beach we would enjoy the funfair and I can still recall
Rev Watkins having a go on the helter skelter. The day always finished with tea
together in a tea room overlooking the seafront. Shirley Malkin
