Editorial

Contributions to this edition of News and Views reveal the very creative life of fFriends. For example, the
two poems concerned with love, peace, and harmony are written creations, and a different creativity is

revealed in news of an exhibition of painting.

An on-going Quaker concern for the plight of refugees and asylum seekers, is featured. A report on multi-
faith is a reminder of the differing faiths held by newcomers to our shores and the relationship of Quaker
         faith to other world religions.

Three contributors remind us of our Quaker history. First, an outstanding eighteenth-century woman
whose creative, Quaker-outreach was expressed through public speaking on her travels. Quaker history is
recorded in precious antiquarian books and a feature of this edition is the way in which a Quaker family
regarded social-justice to be a cornerstone of the way they ran their business.

Other contributions concern Quaker involvement in healing and a contribution on the expression of opin-
ions. The story of Jonah and the Whale is the subject of a unique, creative theological exploration.

The content of News and Views is made up exclusively from contributions made by members of our
Quaker community and we are grateful to them for their recent input. All we write as editors, are ac-

         knowledgments and the Editorial.

can involve Christmas!) It is not too soon to be thinking about a contribution that you would like to
make. As usual, it can be your own writing, drawing, photograph, or poem, or it can be something from
another source which you would like to share.
