Editorial
As may be expected, this edition reflects the wide range of Quaker-thinking that the contributors wish to
share as they write about what matters to them and what they care about. The five contributions reflect
Quaker concerns such as sustainability, inclusiveness, healing and the spiritual dimensions of Quaker life.
There are only five contributions; this News and Views is a bit thin. Does our Quaker community want
News and views to continue?
There are about 190 Friends and attenders in the Bournemouth Coastal Area Quaker Meeting, all read or
at least have potential access to reading, News and Views. From those who read it we receive
encouraging feedback.
Is there something that matters to you, something you feel is worthy of comment, something that gives
you hope for the future or lives with you from the past? It does need to be written by you; It could be
photograph, a poem or a short piece of another author’s writing with which you feel you can identify. This
sort of contribution would be equally welcome to an original piece of creative writing from you.
The deadline for us to receive contributions for the Spring edition of News and Views is
th
Saturday 18 January.
Eric and Dorrie Johnson,
Joint Editors.
