SHORTLY AFTER HURRICANE DORIAN hit the
Bahamas last September, Club Braman member
and PGA Tour winner Brad Faxon—along with golf
superstar Justin Leonard—organized a Pro-Am
tournament at Old Marsh Golf Club with the explicit
goal to raise funds in support of Bahamas Relief.
Despite the last-minute planning, turnout and
support for their effort far exceeded either of the
duo’s humble expectations.
The Pro-Am style of the tournament paired four
amateur players with one professional to create a
group. In all, more than 24 groups of competitors
participated. Major PGA professionals in attendance
included Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Justin
Thomas, Ernie Els, Lucas Glover, Billy Horschel, and
the LPGA’s Jessica Korda.
Always ready to support a worthwhile cause, Braman
Motorcars pledged their support by sponsoring
the 3-par 14th hole of the prestigious course—even
offering a free lease of a gorgeous Snapper Rocks
Blue Metallic BMW 430i convertible for a hole-in-
one. Many attempted to take home the prize, but
unfortunately none left with the coveted keys.
Of course, that didn’t mean the event wasn’t a
massive success; at the conclusion of match play, all
participants were welcomed to an auction featuring
impressive, Bahamian-inspired artworks—and
even a Ryder Cup VIP experience. The occasion was
