NORTON MUSEUM “ART AFTER DARK”
The incredible Norton Museum provides oppor- tunities to visit the galleries, partake in gallery talks and lectures, participate in art workshops, enjoy live music, happy hour, and more during Art After Dark, one of Club Braman member’s favorite events. Two recent Art After Dark’s included The Chinese Moon Festival and the French Connection.
For example, the French event, which enabled members to become Francophiles while enjoy- ing the best the French have to o er, from art
to music to exceptional French wines. Guests viewed the exhibition, French Connections, which featured works from the Norton’s col- lection of photography that explored France’s people, environs, and culture. The revolutionary spirit of French art and culture was celebrated with Spotlight Talk that highlighted docents’ picks from the exhibition, a do-it‐yourself opportunity to make a clay model of Courbet’s “Still Life”, a French wine tasting in the Central Courtyard, and the stylings of “Swing Boutique performing French jazz music. It was a fun‐ lled, enriching evening to say the least.
Club Braman will keep members in the loop on upcoming “Art After Dark” functions.
CLUB BRAMAN HOSTS TEACHERS COMEDY NIGHT
Club Braman held its rst Comedy Night at the Club Braman Performance Theater and had the pleasure of hosting new teachers to the School District of Palm Beach County. It was an evening of fun and laughter as the night started o with Dougie Almedia, winner of Palm Beach Improv’s New Faces of Comedy reaching into his vault to dish out an onslaught of humor.
Then came Mike Rivera who provided high energy humor with an onslaught of teacher jokes aimed at Palm Beach’s newest teacher arrivals. Mike was named “America’s Most Hilarious Teacher” by the daytime television show “The View” and he showed the crowd why.
The new teachers were in stitches as if the repertoire were all inside jokes! Needless to say, everyone had an incredible time and teachers were thankful for Club Braman’s members and the partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County.
The school district hired over 1,000 teachers for the 2017-18 school year. Braman is assisting the School District in both nancial incentives, prizes, programs, vocational and other assistance to retain sta and faculty in our schools. This event was parcel to the overall e ort.
