TRACK IN THE MORNING - HISTORIC LUNCH IN THE AFTERNOON
It was exhilarating to start the day o at Palm Beach Internation- al Raceway, weaving in and out of cones and tossing Bean Bags, where Club Braman MINI members competed for the best times to earn points for prizes.
After the exciting morning at the track event, club members convoyed to Florida’s own historic Seminole Inn on SR 710 in Indiantown. Founded in 1926, the inn’s history includes the founder’s niece, Wallis War eld who later married King Edward VIII of England, after he abdicated the thrown for love in 1936. The ambiance of history stays true to southern charm with open replaces, winding staircases, and cypress ceilings that are all characteristics of a bygone era.
Club members feasted on a bountiful brunch of southern favor- ites including fresh biscuits with sausage gravy, wa es, fried chicken and a sweet nish of homemade peach cobbler. These were only a few samplings of the scrumptious brunch bu et.
As everyone satis ed their appetites, inn owner and a local businesswoman Iris Wall made a special appearance and gave the crowd a breathtaking history of her 90 years of country life including childhood stunts and how the Inn became what it is today. Ancestors of Iris Wall are original Floridians of the wagon train migration era of the 1800’s. The experience was a true Sun- day treat and the Seminole a de nite visitor must.
