MW: Well, that's where I live, so most of my work is here, although I travel a lot. Probably half
of the time I'm travelling, and I love to be in Europe [laughs]. So yeah, it just depends. I do a lot
of festivals, it’s really what I concentrate on because they’re the most fun and they pay the best.
So that'll take me to a place and then I try to do some dates around that, around those.
MW: What's your show that you do, if I might ask?
BiTS: Well, I have two radio shows. One is a general big blues programme which plays practically
any kind of blues at all, and the other is nothing else but acoustic music. And I do count the piano
pretty largely as an acoustic instrument [laughing].
Mitch Woods - Saturday Night Boogie Woogie Man ft. Elvin Bishop
MW: It is, yeah. Well, this album is mostly acoustic.
BiTS: Absolutely, yes.
MW: Elvin and a little bit of Kenny Neal, everything else is acoustic. Very intimate, you know.
BiTS: Yes, indeed, it has that feel about it. I agree with you. I was surprised actually to hear you
say that it was made in the studio because it sounds very often like people messing around after
a show.
MW: Well, I mean, you know, it was not rehearsed. Each take pretty much we did in the studio
and played one or two times, and boom, there you have it. So it wasn't like we had a big rehearsal,
and we didn't have a band really, so it could be very spontaneous. Yeah, and I think that's the
magic of it, and I really wanted to bring that out. A lot of times, you see these albums with
everybody playing, but with the band, you don’t really hear the essence of each artist.
