OKD: We could pack that big pub. It was huge. We could pack it full. I loved it.
Southampton, we played in Southampton too.
BiTS: Right.
OKD: Isn't that where you are at, or around there?
BiTS: Well, I'm on the south coast certainly. I'm about 40-50 miles from Southampton.
OKD: Yeah, okay well that's still pretty close. I played there a lot. I played in Leeds
and Liverpool and Blackpool. All over.
BiTS: I didn't know that. This is all news to me.
OKD: I have a lot of good friends in England.
BiTS: Have you ever met a guy called Mike Vernon?
OKD: Oh, yeah. See, I know Mike. I wanted to record for his label but there was too
much stuff going on at the time.
BiTS: I think you'd like to know that he passed away a couple of days ago.
OKD: Oh no. I didn't know that. I did like him.
BiTS: He was a huge figure in the blues in this country.
OKD: Yeah, we had plans on recording with him at one time, but we were on the
move. We never stopped moving. I was playing 300 dates a year, and I already had
some little record labels, but I wanted to be on, what was it, Blue Horizon, was one
of the ones he had?
BiTS: Yeah, yeah. That's right.
OKD: Yeah, I wanted to be on that, but it didn't work out, but that's okay, I still liked
him a lot.
