The easygoing ballad, ‘Things Will Be Fine’, is a soul infused, hope filled piece, with the Rev, who
once again, shares lead vocals with Denise Carite.

Jeff Pitchell—Brown Eyed Blues —DeGuello Records
Jeff’s latest album is a collection of sixteen numbers, including
a dozen original songs, remixes, and a bonus live take. A wide
variety of musicians add to the enticing atmosphere created by
the numbers.‘Now You Know’, opens, with an infectiously
rolling, Texas blues. Jeff’s bluff, gruff vocals are suitably
effective. The rolling piano and tramping percussion of ‘Brown
Eyed Blues’ delivers a fine boogie as does the enticingly
swinging ‘Wait’.
‘Caught Up In The Wave’, features drum work from Tom
Hambridge as Jeff delivers a solid blues with gospel overtones.
Despite the melancholy, ‘Every Day’, tells us we should just
carry on.
The infectious, breezy guitar work on ‘When We Kiss’ certainly lifts your mood. The warm and
appealing shuffle ‘Do Right Girl’ is an affectionate love letter to Jeff’s wife Betsy. The tramping,
‘Beg, Steal And Rob’ possesses fine ringing guitar work and is underpinned by some searing B3.
‘Any Way You Can’, is a fine, laidback viscously, swampy grooving guitar-filled number.
The fuzz guitar led, slowly rocking ‘Stay While The Night Is Young’, features four drummers to
give it a denser atmosphere. ‘Meet Me’, is a rolling, grooving suggestive shuffle, which features
some slinky saxophone courtesy of Charles Neville. While on Willie Nelson’s ‘Whiskey River’,
harmonica legend James Cotton provides the wailing harmonica that melds with the rolling
guitar and urging keyboards.
On ‘Got To Keep My Head Up’, Jeff joins Rick Derringer on vocals and guitar providing a fine
rocky blues duet. ‘When It All Comes Down’ is an enjoyably rolling, toe-tapping shuffle. On the
live slowburning ‘Soulshine’, Charles Neville provides a wonderfully velvet saxophone.
Bonus number ‘Welcome To The Beat’, is a dreamy, laidback foray into the enticing world of
Salsa.

The Mighty Bosscats—Photo Shoot—Self Release
Richard Townend is a well known songwriter and guitarist on
the British blues circuit both as a solo artist and with his band
The Mighty Boss Cats and has been nominated many times at
the British Blues Awards. This new release “ Photo Shoot” sees
him in action with his band; The Mighty Bosscats.
The album opens with the title track ‘Photo Shoot’ a nice gentle
rocker of a tune. ‘Pray Harder’ has some great guitar vibes
going on with a hint of some Reggae in there too. ‘Next Big
Thing’ brought to mind Elbow whilst ‘John Crow’ has a more
bluesy Dire Straits type feel to it.
