‘You Make Me Happy’, is a rolling, happy-go lucky tale of sweet, sweet love. While, ‘I’ll Be In
Your Corner’ and ‘Your So Fine’, are joyous slowburning odes to love.

     Seriously recommended!

                                              The Namedroppers—Starshine—Horizon Music Group

The Connecticut based band, were originally the backing
band for guitarist Charlie Karp, who sadly died in 2019. This
is their fourth album ‘Starshine’. Now their line-up is: Bobby
                                             T. Torello; drums, Scott Spray; bass, Ron Rifkin; keyboards
and Rafe Klein; lead vocals and guitar.

The opener, ‘Starshine’ is a funky, soulful roller with a
walking narration and an enticing vocal from Simone Brown.
B.B, King’s ‘Sweet Little Angel’, continues the groove with
piano and guitar to the fore. ‘Whiskey’, is a timely, good time,
rocking warning of the falling down, pitfalls of alcohol.

‘Shades of Blue’, slows the pace and mood, on this blue-eyed soul piece, Carole Sylvan supplies
the delicate, affecting swaying harmonies behind a mellow voiced Rafe Klein.

‘I Died, You Cried’, takes its lead from Buddy Holly’s ‘That’ll Be The Day’, but, nonetheless, it’s
still a jolly, infectious little piano led number.

As the rocking ‘Can’t Take It With You’, states, spend it, before you go, Because, it’s no good to
     you when you’ve gone.

The raw, rollicking’ ‘Rotten Person’, reminds one of Alice Cooper at his enjoyably malevolent
     best.

The Beatles sixties hit, ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, is given an infectious soul infused, rolling
country feel with enticing slide and equally inviting vocals from Ron Rifkin and Simone Brown,
featured guitarist is the late Charlie Karp.
‘Red Sea Blues’, is a melancholic, slow burning organ driven lament, once again, Simone Brown
     delivers a suitably effective vocal.

‘Joy, Pain, Sky’, is a slowly, grooving, funk and soul fusion. Part spoken word with soulful vocal
interjections from Simone Brown. Dave Lowrie is on piano and Jonathan Dubose on guitar.

     Well worth a listen!
