VOCATIONAL PERSONALITY TYPES


              INTERPRETING THE O*NET INTEREST PROFILER SCORE REPORT

           The O*NET Interest Profiler is based on Dr. John L. Holland’s theory of vocational personalities and
           work environments—one of the most important approaches used in career interest surveys.  This theory
           describes six different vocational personality types.  According to the theory, most people have one or
           more of these personality types, and the occupations and work environments they choose tend to match
           their personality descriptions.  The six personality types are often summarized by their first letters as shown
           in the chart—R-I-A-S-E-C.
